The Grey Six of Cups meaning this is a soulmate that doesn't believe!
The Grey Six of Cups meaning this is a soulmate that doesn't believe!

I've been in love with the same guy for more than four years. Throughout these years, our relationship has been a complex tapestry woven with threads of passion, longing, and disappointment. He has loved me, vanished without a trace, and then returned, almost like a fleeting shadow that dances in and out of my life. Each time he reappears, I am filled with a sense of hope, a flicker of belief that perhaps this time he has finally recognized the profound connection we share. I yearn for him to understand what a true and honest relationship means, one built on mutual respect, trust, and unwavering commitment. Yet, despite my hopes, I find myself sinking into disappointment once again, left questioning the very nature of our bond. Why do we keep subjecting ourselves to this cycle of emotional turmoil and heartache?

The reason we stay in a toxic pattern is to learn, to grow, and to ultimately evolve into better versions of ourselves. It is through these experiences that we are often forced to confront our deepest fears and insecurities. We need to learn how much we value ourselves, how much we appreciate ourselves, and how much we are willing to give and sacrifice for love. Many enter a relationship as it is, driven by the fear of being alone, of facing the silence that echoes in the absence of companionship. But is being alone really that terrible? Is solitude not an opportunity for reflection, growth, and self-discovery? The answer lies within the depths of our own hearts and minds.

I understand that when you are with someone, you feel warm and loved. There is a certain comfort in sharing your life with another person, in having someone to confide in, to laugh with, and to create memories alongside. You can share ideas with them, give and receive affection, and build a life together. The house becomes a home, infused with laughter and warmth, and your life becomes filled with love and companionship. I want this too, a genuine connection that nurtures my soul and brings joy to my days. However, I have come to realize that this desire must not overshadow the importance of my own well-being and self-worth.

Recently, I found myself overflowing with an unexpected surge of energy and vitality that seemed to radiate from deep within. It was a feeling unlike any other, a refreshing sense of joy and contentment that enveloped me like a warm embrace. I felt loved, captivated by the thought that perhaps he was reaching out to me once more, sending messages filled with affection and warmth that could ignite the spark between us. My heart raced at the anticipation of a text that I thought might come through, bringing with it the promise of connection and intimacy that I had longed for. However, as moments turned into minutes and minutes into hours, I realized that no message arrived. Why was that? The answer was both profound and illuminating: because I was in love with myself.

In this journey of self-discovery, I came to understand that the partner I had been so desperately seeking outside of myself was, in fact, within me all along. The realization struck me with clarity and conviction, illuminating the shadows of my past choices. I didn’t require his sporadic displays of affection or those rare moments of passion that had once seemed so vital to my happiness. Instead, I found that the love I had been yearning for was the love I needed to cultivate for myself. It was an awakening, a moment of profound self-acceptance and appreciation that transformed my inner landscape. I recognized that my worth was not contingent upon someone else's validation or attention, but rather, it was inherent and unshakeable.

This newfound love for myself was empowering; it transformed my perspective on relationships and my own self-image. I began to embrace my strengths while acknowledging my flaws, understanding that both were integral to who I am as a person. I learned to celebrate my achievements, no matter how small, and to nurture my passions and interests without seeking external approval or affirmation. The journey inward became a source of strength, allowing me to flourish in ways I had never imagined possible. As I continued to explore this inner love, I found myself more at peace, more centred, and more confident in my own skin. I realized that by loving myself fully, I was setting a standard for how I deserved to be treated by others, and this realization became a guiding principle in my life.

I became my own best friend, my own greatest supporter, and in doing so, I opened the door to a deeper, more authentic existence. In this newfound relationship with myself, I discovered that I truly needed me, and that was the greatest revelation of all. I learned to find joy in my own company, to create a life that resonates with my values and desires, and to understand that the journey of self-love is not a destination but an ongoing process. This journey has taught me resilience, self-compassion, and the importance of nurturing my own heart, laying the foundation for healthier relationships in the future. In this space of self-acceptance, I now stand ready to welcome love into my life, not from a place of need, but from a place of abundance and fulfilment.
